Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato and Toms River Police Chief Mitchell A. Little announce that on June 16th, 2015, Toms River Police Det. Thomas Grosse and Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit Det. Stephanie Bayha arrested Daniel Roy Plummer, 34, of Toms River on three (3) counts of Sexual Assault and four (4) counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
The partnering investigator’s two (2) month long investigation alleges that Plummer sexually assaulted four female victims; all minors known to him at the time of the assaults. Based on Grosse’s and Bayha’s investigation, Senior Assistant Prosecutor Terry Ann Linardakis approved the above charges and they took Plummer into custody at his place of employment yesterday. Bail was set by Judge Wendel E. Daniels at $250,000 with no 10% option. Nicole’s Law and a no victim contact order were implemented on behalf of the four (4) victims.
Assisting in the investigation were the Division of Child Protection and Permanency, Det. Matthew Scutti from the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department’s Crime Scene Unit, Det. Jason Steele from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit, Det. David Brubaker and Det. Daniel Roske from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, High Tech Crime Unit.
The media and the public are reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
