On August 10, 2018, The Partnering Agencies arrested Brittany Keifer, 26 years old from Point Pleasant in connection with the hit and run investigation. Detective Hynes with the assistance of OCPO Detective Anthony Carrington III, developed investigated leads after receiving tips from our new release and social media postings. Detective Hynes and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit subsequently arrested Keifer and charged her with 4th degree assault by auto, 3rd degree leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury, motor vehicle summons for reckless driving, motor vehicle summons for leaving the scene of accident involving injury and motor vehicle summons for failure to report an accident. Keifer was released on a complaint summons.
